We are located just inland (300 meters) of Marino Ballena National Park which is known as one of the best beaches in Costa Rica. There is so much to explore in the area!! It is a beautiful walk along the palm lined beach to the whales tail, an amazing land formation that only comes out at low tide. We have surf boards for rent and surf lessons available. Marino Ballena National Park is the perfect wave to learn to surf.
Uvita is 16 km south of Dominical. The coastanara is paved from Quepos through to Panama now! Making the trip from Quepos to Uvita just a couple hours. There are several banks, grocery stores, a bakery, and an internet cafe in town.
The land that The Flutterby House is on has 33 adult mango trees with a cool ocean breeze. The Flutterby House is the perfect place to enjoy the natural beauty of Costa Rica, hang in a hammock and enjoy a cold beverage.

Pam Andreasen -The mother of The Flutterby House, is originally from Half Moon Bay, California. Pam, an avid backpacker and former river rafting guide, now hostel builder and owner knows exactly what a traveler needs. Her laid back style and love of people make her the perfect hostess.
