HOSTEL, RESTAURANT & BAR
Your relaxed and friendly home in the heart of Uvita
Steps away from the Marino Ballena National Park where you can enjoy walking, bird watching, surfing or just relaxing with a cold beer
The Flutterby House is a sustainable eco-friendly hostel, bar, and restaurant located in the natural beauty of Costa Ballena, Costa Rica.
This is your home while you're exploring our beautiful slice of life on this planet. We offer a chef’s kitchen, surfboard and bike rental, yoga deck, free lockers for the use of all guests and much more!
We provide hammocks in the shade, comfy lounge areas, secure camping and parking, and have quiet hours from 10pm to 7am so that all guests and wildlife may rest easily at night.
Conveniently located behind the Marino Ballena National Park. Established in 1990, the park contains the largest coral reef on the Pacific side of Central America. The park waters are also great vantage points for viewing the humpback whale as it migrates (Dec. to April) from as far away as Alaska and Hawaii down to Cano Island, just off of the Osa Peninsula.
The beach is inside the protected area of the park, so hunting any of the marine life is strictly prohibited. Snorkeling and scuba diving are favorite activities as are visits to the mangroves where green marine iguanas, Olive Ridley and Hawksbill turtles gather
About Pam and Kim
Pam and Kim grew up in the small agricultural town of Half Moon Bay, California. The daughters of adventurous small business owners with a “if you are going to do something, do it right” attitude were the first to instill the ideas and beliefs about environmental awareness and sustainable living. As a result the sisters had an idea of systems in nature and entrepreneurial mindsets from a young age.
